This past May, COAF partnered with the Tumanyan Museum for their “Pinocchio Month” project. This program aimed to build a culture bridge between children in Armenia and Italy.
Kids from COAF-supported Aragatsotn, Armavir, Lori, Shirak and Tavush communities participated in puppet and craft making, drawing and “virtual textbook making” competitions. The children from Hatsik, where the COAF puppet club is popular, won the puppet making portion of the program. COAF kids from Lori region took home seven prizes. The “virtual textbook” created by the Lernagog children who participated was regarded as the “most original textbook” presented to the panel.
During the program, COAF’s director of theatre programs, Marine Asatryan, presented The Adventures of Pinocchio at Yerevan-based Metro Theater. COAF school acting troupes from Karakert, Aragatsavan and Getashen had roles in the production. Many congratulations to our talented students!
