17 Cafeterias, 18 Brushodromes, 200 Happy Children and Counting

Director of the Children of Armenia Fund projects Ester Hakobyan stressed the healthy nutrition of children on a daily basis. “For us, education is not only the child’s classroom activities. Education is complex, it is about psychology and child health, employment and extracurricular activities, and food … Although today we have access to healthy food in elementary schools, we believe that school cafeterias should serve all children “.

In collaboration with Children of Armenia Fund, all three schools in the Arteni village in the Aragatsotn region and the Berdavan and Zorakan villages in the Tavush region receive catering provided by the UN World Food Program. Renovated and equipped kitchens serve 200 elementary schoolchildren, providing healthy, fresh and hot food every day. As well as 18 Brushodromes (teeth cleaning stations), so that children can have proper dental hygiene while at school and implement these practices at home.
